Stage clothes must communicate from the back row while bending, turning, sitting, and surviving the route from dressing area to spotlight. Beauty gets a much better evening when structure comes along. Good stagecraft is visible in the effect and invisible in the panic prevented: labeled bags, backed closures, tested shoes, documented cues, and one emergency kit that actually contains a needle.
